Different Types and Classes of Water Damage

Water damage exist in different categories and classes. We have three categories and four classes of water damage.  Let us look at some of this in details.

This first category includes burst pipes, leaking appliances, small amounts of rain water, melting snow, broken toilet tanks. You find that this category of water is a clean source of water which is not harmful to human beings when consumed. It is necessary that the places that are leaking should be corrected immediately since if not done in time it will change to category two.   Therefore broken pipes should be fixed even though the water is not harmful.

We also have the second category of water damage. The color of this water is grey meaning that its contamination has started in the source. The category one of water damage that was not corrected is developing into category two. It is not too dangerous but it can bring some sickness or discomfort if consumed by either human beings or animals. They include waters that have been discharged from washing machine, dishwasher, toilet over flow, sump pump backup, hydrostatic pressure seepage, washing machine overflow, broken aquarium and many others. It can cause some health effects such as asthma, allergy, headache, skin irritation, burning eyes and many others. Before it develops into category three make sure that you fix it.
